October, 2008... From The West

Brethren,

The first meeting of the 2008/09 calendar was an ambitious affair with us having conferred 2 M.M. Degrees and having proved 4 brethren. Congratulations to Bro. Brian Ferguson and Bro. Patrick Harrison on their being passed to the sublime degree of a Master Mason. Your proficiency was most excellent, and I applaud the efforts of your sponsors.

I also would like to congratulate those brethren who proved themselves in the 3rd. Excellent work!

On Sunday September 28th, 2008 was this years annual  Dargavel Day brunch and The Woodbine Racetrack.  I was very pleased by the turnout, as well as the number of Special Ladies who enjoyed the afternoon. It always is such a pleasure to extend our hands to these special people in our Masonic family which has now endured for over 42 years. St. George has some wonderful traditions. Let's make this years events some of the best ever!

In the month of October we will be conferring a double E.A. Degree. I must take this time to apologize for the lateness of the September meeting. It was most ambitious, and you can bet I'll be on my toes to ensure the meeting concludes as per usual. Bro. Nick Konkin will be conferring his 2nd degree at Belleville Temple Lodge No.666 on October 20th, and Bro. Raegan Stuart will confer his 2nd on October 24th at Birch Cliff Lodge No. 612. Please make every effort to support or Candidates.

Also brethren, remember we've been invited to Cleveland for the Installation of John H. Barkley Lodge No.621. This is an 'open lodge' event where your special ladies will have the rare opportunity to witness a Masonic event. I highly encourage all members to mark their calendars. Especially our officers!

September 2008... From The West

Brethren,

I hope you all had a wonderful summer and are refreshed, re-energized, and re-enthused for the upcoming Masonic year. First I would like to congratulate to R. W. Bro. Leonard Feldt on being elected District Deputy Grand Master for Toronto Don Valley. I also would like to congratulate W. Bro. Richard Carveth on his appointment to District Secretary. Likewise, I extend my congratulations to V.W. Bro. Harris Jones (Huron Bruce) on his election to Grand Junior Deacon. Finally, I would like to congratulate V.W. Bro. Paul Skazin (Ionic), Ehran Altayolgu (Markham Union), and V.W. Bro. Fred Krzikowski (Harry L. Martyn) on their Grand Lodge appointments.

I would also like to thank those brethren who traveled with us to Ulster Lodge No. 537 where our very own Bro. Ryan Johnston was passed to the F.C. degree in June. The brethren of St. George thank W. Bro. Paul Kasulis and the rest of the brethren of Ulster, for their warm hospitality.

We have a busy, yet exciting year ahead. Each month I will invite guest speakers to educate and inform. There are no shortage of degrees and applications. Mark your calendars, as we will be traveling to support our own Bro. Brian Park as he is passed the F.C degree at Birch Cliff Lodge No. 612 at the Scarborough Temple on October 24th.

On Sunday September 28th, 2008 is this years Dargavel Day brunch and The Woodbine Racetrack.  Tickets as $40/person. This year we are looking for our members to give a little extra effort in supporting our vital and important events such as Dargavel Day. One person can make all the difference. Perhaps that one person…. is you! I look forward seeing you all again in Lodge and hope this year brings us and our families closer to this warm fraternal bond of love and friendship we all admire.

Worshipful Master
